                  Tasked to accompany EITAC: to TAA Ho@-se as lead d3.visi.::,n
             element. Tasking became permanent thus 5th platoon patrc,led and
             .:@.:,ntroled entry intc, the EITAC compound and the TOI-7. Appro,%t-irnate'.v
             two weeks later the rerna"ndpr .7,f thp company moved to AA HoT-se.
                  The platoon was directed to identify two MP teams to
             accompany the Commanding General and Assistant Elivision Commander-
             for manuevers as they moved forward to control the battle flow.
             This squad rehearsed ji-kmping and rnanuevering along side P.@-adley
             fighting machines, MIAL Main E,attle @ant@s, and Command Trac@es.
             Eiiie to theit- prc,ficiency and high motivation they were t,-,iown
             throughout the EITAI-' as '@he "Ciod Squad."
             Fifth platoon escorted the DTAC, again as tie lead division
             element, to TAA Wendy and then flirthet- toward the border of Iraq.
             Just 35 kilometers s,-jl-ith --.f the border, the EITAC waited for the
             Jp-nijary 15th deadline set by F'residen' Eli-ish.
                    Ouring the 5 weeks :,f aerial bombardment the two teams
             earlier mentioned jumped to the b,--rde@- with the '--'commanding
             General as he directed art4-llary strikes on the iraq Republican
             Guard.
                    As the ground war started and the division element began to
             move into Iraq , 5th platc-i-@n and the DTAC stayed in close
             proximity of the 2-rigade task forces, occassionally overtaking
             them. Although no decisive engagements were encol-intp-t-ed 5th
             platoon tt:,o@@ several EPW and stayed well within enemy artillery
             range.
                     When the cease fire was called fifth Platoon was fully
             intact with or-ly one vehicle casualty as a result :-f aT-. iinse,-mn
             anti tank ditch.
                     They soon moved south to the EIPEAR at-,--a and rp-joined the
             company afte@- six months of EITAC support. ]-in 2tz, March 91 the
             company comrnandpy- disrdatched fifth platoon tc, the p,Drt of Darnman
             tc, assist the division in its move through the wash@'ac@...s and onto
             the ships bcit-ind for home.
