       Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.

The first combat force to deploy from the division was the

first Division Ready Brigade (DRB-1). The DRB-1 was made up of
an aviation task force and the Second Air A@'sault Brigade Task

Force. Two C5A and three C141 Air Force jets carrying the first

wave of the DRB-1 equipment departed Campbell Army Airfield at
       2230 Zulu on 17 August 90.9

It would take thirteen days for fifty-six C141s and

forty-nine C5As to transport the task forces' 2,742 personnel,

control and a brigade task force with attack aviation and
       sustainment support. 12

The DRB-1 movement, as well as the movement of the rest of

the division and the 101 Support Group (Corps), was coordinated

and controlled primarily through the division's Energency

Operations Center (EOC) at Fort Campbell. The EOC monitored

movement requirements and progress, requested transportation

assets, and positioned liason officers at the Jacksonville port.

The EOC also coordinated the movement of the 2-229th Aviation
