       SUBJECT: THE FY 1991 Influenza Immunization Proaram


       1. References.

       subject.- Annual Influenza Immunization Proaram-


       2. Puractse. This memorandum describes commander's
       resoonsibilities for Influenza Immunization Proaram- This
       .orouram will be implemented on an area medical support concept
       IAW with the Desert Shield I OPLAN. Influenza is a hiahly
       contanious illness which usually strikes in this AOR from
       December throuah March. Prevention of enidemic influenza is
       vital to maintaining personnel readiness durino Operation Desert
       Shield.


       3. Resnonsibilities.


           a. Corns Suraeon's Office.


                (1) Have overall responsibility for the FY 1991
       Influenza Immunization Proaram for XVIII Airborne Corps.

                (2) Provide an estimate to the 32nd MEDSOM. Ist COSCOM
       of active duty military and reservists on active duty assigned
       or attached to XVIII Airborne Coros- This estimate is to be
       utilized as a Dlannina fioure in orderina Influenza Vaccine and
       immunization supolies.


           b. All commanders will:


                (1) Develop a prouram to immunize their soldiers for
       influenza.


                (2) Be resnonsible for ensurina that the soldiers under
       their commands are property immunized-

                (3) Provide a method to document the soldiers being
       immunized. Documentation will include, Name, Rank, SSN and date
       of vaccination.
