              4. (U) TITLE: C2: NBC RELATED MESSASE TRAFFIC DURING DESERT SHIELD
              5. (U) OBSERVATION: The amount of such traffic was voluminous;
              dissemination and assimilation difficult.

              6. (U) DISCUSSION: Ist ID (M) NBC Division received
                      35 Unclassified messages of 73 total pages within 180
              days (Aug 90 - Jan 91).
                      114 classified intelligence messages of 340 total pages
              within 180 days (Aug 90 - Jan 91).
                  The bulk of the unclassified traffic was NBC logistics
              related and disseminated to units after it was screened for
              applicability, reentered into PC computer, editorial notes
              added, printed and reproduced +or dissemination to battalion
              level.
                  The classified traffic was categorized by month of receipt,
              indexed, and made available to Bde and Sep Dn Chemical
              personnel.
