             4. (U) TITLE: INTELLIGENCE: NBC Threat Briefing Classified Secret
             5. (U) OBSERVATION: Availability of briefing was widely made
known and used among RC units.
             6. (U) DISCUSSION: Large amounts of NBC threat data exists.
Protective equipment is generally effective to combat it, but
             there were limitations.
A thirty-minltte threat briefing and supporting messages were
available to RC units. Post Chemical scheduled and pitched the
             briefing to all federalized units.
A video tape briefing of the use of chemicals in the
Iran-Iraq war (also secret) was available but remained generally
             an untapped resource.
             7. (U) LESSON LEARNED: That threat data briefings require
broader dissemination, consistent with security restrictions.
             S. (U) RECOMMENDED ACTION: The availability a+ NBC threat brief
and supporting messages were widely made known, required and
scheduled. While given only to commanders and staff, this
option was manpower intensive. RC units to whom this option was
             briefed vouched for its benefit.
That video taped threat briefing be made generally
             available.

             9. (U) COMMENTS: none
