              q. UNIT PERSONNEL-     I am short a Non-SOD soldiers . The need for a full
          time supply sergeant and mechanic would free EOD Technicians to accomplish
          their assigned BOD mission.

              r. INDIVIDUAL WEAPONS- A rifle scope should be available for each assigned
          rifle, the rifle scope would be used for disruption of munitions when a Barrett
          Rifle cannot be used. A smaller weapons should carried In lieu of the M16AI.
          A M16AI was carried everywhere for personnel protection once the war started.
          The M16Al got in the way of individuals when they were trying to do an SOD
          Incident. During training and ARTEP's carrying weapons Is waived and the M16Al
          was a problem previously but it Is now.

          5. Provide a historical narrative of significant events from notification of
          deployment through present. (ie deployment date, from, to, unit supported,
          supporting unit(s), AO, Mission, ect.).

             Due to the loss of my Staff Journal/Log on computer disk, the only accurate
          information is covered from the period of 28 Jan 91 to 14 Mar 91. Incident
          Journals from Jan 91 through May 91 are at enclosures I through 5.

          28 Jan 91: Unit is located 27 miles southwest of Log Base S, supporting the
          2nd Armored Calvary Regiment (ARC). Unit is with the Headquarters,
          Headquarters Troop, (HHT) of the Regimental Support Squadron (RSS).

          29 Jan 9t: Six unit personnel flew from KKMC to Dhahran to pick up new HUMV
          vehicles.

          01 Feb 91: Vehicles from Dhahran arrived at unit. Used 2nd ACR's organic
          vehicles to help move 512th BODCT from 2nd COSCOM to new location.

          04 Feb 91: Three unit personnel supported 512th EODCT in completing their move
          to new location.

          08 Feb 91: MSG Gjerning sat on the first 512th EODCT Promotion Board.

          13 Feb 91: Moved excess   equipment to 2nd ACR's rear element for storage and
          transportation to follow  unit north at a later time. Broke down unit camp for
          push to new location.

          14 Feb 91:  Pushed north  with 2nd ARC's RSS to TAA Seminole and set up unit
          camp.

          15 Feb 91:  Vehicle fire  in base camp, disposed of an AT4 warhead.

          16 Feb 91:  Did function  check on SEOD Robot and robot does not work properly.

          17 Feb 91:  Downed AH-1 Helicopter with fully loaded, will send team out
          tomorrow.
