      Additional Areas of Interest:

      1. Class VIII: No class VIII supplies were ordered during this
      deployment. The unit deployed with adequate class VIII supplies
      and used little of it.

      2. Unit deployed with, trained with, and used the M8Al Chemical
      Alarm, M8 and M9 Chemical Detection Paper, and the M256 Chemical
      Agent Detection Kit.

      3. Recommended MTOE Changes:

         a. Addition of a 3rd vehicle (MlOO9). Supplies and personnel
      (even at 83% fill) barely fit in the (2) 5/4 Ton M1008 Trucks
      and (2) 3/4 Ton Trailers. Vehicle breakdowns were common in this
      environment, and the mission could not be accomplished with only
      1 vehicle.

         b. Conversion from (2) 5KW mogas generators to (1) or (2) 3KW
      diesel generators. Mogas was sometimes difficult to obtain and
      the unit's small power requirement does not justify these large
      problem-prone generators. This change would also decrease the
      weight load during moves, which is at its maximum. These
      generators were never actually needed. This unit was always able
      to tap into the supporting unit's generator for power.

         C. A refractometer should be added to evaluate total protein
      and urine specific gravity.
