        1. The purpose of this memorandum is to      clarify the Wear-Life
        and serviceability criteria for Chemical     Overgarments.
        2. Wear-Life is based on oant'                   BDO Wear-Life is

        Commanders can extend the 22 day version to 30 days based on a
        risk assessment evaluation. The Wear-Life of the CPOG is 14
        days. CPOG or the EDO (14 day Wear-Life version) Wear-Life is
        not extendable. Tho BDO (22 aay Wear-Life version) provides
        protection from continuous exposure to liquid chemical agents
        (gross contamination) for 24 @oure while ihe CPOG/BDO (14 day
        Woar-Life version) pr6vi.@ce protection against liquid chemical
        agents (gross contaiiri,.'L-ion) for six hours.
        3. Serviceability io,judged on the garments' overall condition
        and on onviro=ental dxposure. Breakdown an6 redistribution oZ
        charcoal (migration to the end of sleeves and trousers and wear
        spots at the knee and elbow areas) in both the CPOG and BDO Must
        be considered in judging serviceability. EDO exposed to
