                   support           Medical Evacuation, HoWitalization, Dental,
                   Medica]L Suq.3ply, Preventive Medi@, @le Blood arid V
                   Care within III Corps.

                   4.

                      A. Gerieva convention:

                           (1) Medical units entitled to the protection of the
                   Geneva convention may display the C-eneva Convention (RED CROSS)
                   symbol. The fina]L decision con        distinctive marking of
                   medical facilities rests with the tactical       dP-r.

                           (2) Geneva Convention markirigs on       ai       and
                   vehicles will not be covered or obliterated in any
                   aircraft/vehicle operations.

                           (3) To preclude violations of the Geneva convention,
                   medical imits        el will not be employed in any combat
                   operation, either offensive or defensive, except for the Provision
                   of medical @ or unit self defense. Medical Perso=el maY
                   a@q for personal defense and for the protection of the wounded
                   and sick in their care. They maY fire on enemy troops OnlY when
                   they or their patients are under attack. Medical persomel will
                   riot perfom guard detail.

                           (4) Provision must be made for the collection of the sick
                   and         and their treatment, whether friend or foe, military
                   or civilian, regardless of legal status. Only urgent medical
        priority in the order of treatment to be
                   atfti ni stered.

                           (5) Enemy military medical       nnel @ are captured are
                   considered retained personnel and rkot prisoners of war. They will
                   receive the benefits and protection of the Geneva Convention and
                   may be required to @t prisoners of @.
                           (6) Enemy civilian medical persomel who are physicians,
                   @wm,dentists, nurses, or medical orderlies may also be
                   required to use their medical knowledge 3m the interest of
                   prisoners of war. These @@ personnel are oonsi            to be
                   protected @vi@s and receive the same treatment as retained
                   military medical persomel.
