      SUBJECT: Desert Shiel.d/Storm Class II/IV Facts


      1. Class II:

          a. Desert Battledress Uniform (BDBU): 1,400,000 DBDU shipped
      to $WA; 42,000 desert field jackets; 150,000 boots (desert/hot
      weather).

          b. Chemical Protective Overgarment (CPOG): 890,000 were
      requested; 992,000 were shipped or in transit at war's end; 361,000
      received prior to cutoff of shipping due to war's end. 321st MMC
      had begun ordering 200,000 biweekly to resupply projected usage.

          C. organizational Clothing and Individual Equipment (OCIE):
      35,000 sets ordered; only 8,000 received.

          d. Decoration Sets: DSC-2,473/SS-13,610/SM-850/DFC-300/LM-19/
      PH-13,724/BS-14,714/AM-4,465/ARCOM-109,500/AAM-I,OOO/V DEVICE-750/

      2. Class IV: Stockage ordered is just beginning to arrive due to
      long Shipping time required for this material. Ordered:
      lumber-13,000,000 board feet/plywood-12,000 sheets/pickets- 92,000/
      sandbags-6,000,000/concertina-2,000,000 rolls/barbed wire-50,000
      rolls.

      3. This information is based on records at 321st MMC. Supplies
      requested from corps MMC directly to NICP or which were passed by
      321st and subsequently shipped directly to corps or lower units are
      not reflected in these numbers.
