MEMORANDUM FOR RECORD
SUBJECT: AOC Update ',-S 199-
1. Key Players: @-SA, '17CSA, staf @-- principals.
Guidance and Taskers.
a. Ensure there are no gaps in medical care in Europe as a
result of reserve component demobilization. TSG stated there
would not be. (Information).
b. Redeployment briefing emphasized the complexity of
assembling and loading redeploying units. SWA redeployment plans
are similar to those previously used on Bright Star, REFORGER,
and Team Spirit. CSA stated he wanted the staff to understand
the steps required in redeployment and that this would not be a
simple operation. (Information)
c. CSA requested TSG, with DCSPER and DCSOPS, to look at
the health hazards posed to soldiers in Iraq and Kuwait, with
special attention to the smoke from oil well fires. Based on
these hazards, is a rotation policy required for soldiers now
located in Kuwait or Iraq? (ACTION: TSG; ASSIST: DCSOPS, DCSPER)
