  MEMORANDUM FOR Unit commanders

  SUBJECT: Hepatitis Immunization


  1. Commanders are reminded of the need to monitor the immunization status of
  their troops for hepatitis. Maximum length of immunization coverage is six
  months with a five mililiter (ml or cc) dose of gamma globulin. The 2.5 ml
  dose is effective for three months.

  2. The 21st Evacuation Hospital provides this immunization. For individuals,
  this may be done on a walk-in basis during normal sickcall hours (Mon - Fri,
  0800 - 1200). For groups larger than ten persons, please contact CPT Parsons
  at 899-1119 ext 7537 or 895-0602 ext 7537.


  3. Hepatitis is a threat and the need for immunization is real.
