         SUBJECT: INFORMATION ON THE XM-21 Remote Sensing Chemical Agent
         Alarm (RSCAL).


         1. Reference Phone Con between SSG Pocaigue of ARCENT G3/NBC and
         Miss Suzanne Milching of Aberdern Proving Ground Maryland (Comm.
         301-671-3941/3070) The purpose of the Phone Con was to find
         Information regarding the fielding of the XM-21 Remote Sensing
         Chemical Agent Alarm (RSCAL), as follows:

              S. What are thee limitations of the XM-21?

              b. It is believed that the XM-21 may not meet everyone's
              expectations, will it?

              C. How reliable is the system?

                   (1) Is there any technical data available?
                   (2) Is there any user testing being conducted, if so
                   where was the testing accomplished at?

              d, What is the temperature range of the XM-211
                   (1) What is the High Range can the XM- 21 be operated
                   at?
                   (2) At temperatures over 120 degrees is the Fuller Load
                   False Alarm?


         2. In addition to telephonic information to the question above It
         was also requested to send this headquarters a hard copy of the
         executive summary and the results of any tests VIA FAX.


         3. Production of the XM- 21 will begin in FY 92 and the fielding
         will be in late FY 95.

         4. The engineer developmental hardware throw testing plan is
         sitting in the contractors (DCSOPS) LTC Willhlite.
