             TAB D TO APPENDIX 10 TO ANNEX B TO COMUSARCENT OPERATIONS PLAN
             FOR THE DEFENSE AND RESTORATION OF K       U
             CHEMICAL AND BIOLOGICAL SAMPLING (U).
             1. (U) Purpose: To establish the procedures for the safe and
             expedient collection of susp ected chemical and biological (CB)
             agents to the laboratory for processing, analysis, and
             identification.

             2. (U) Responsibility.
                 a.  (U) The CDR, FMIB with the USARCENT and CENTCOM.Surgeon
             General are responsible for advising the G2 and G3 on all
             matters of CB sampling.
                 b.       The respective Corps G2s are responsible for
             transferring samples through MI channels to the JCMEC.
                 c.       Medical personnel will coordinate with combat units
             and Graves Registration units for the expedient transfer of
             personnel deceased as a result of a CB attack.
                 d. +G+ Technical Escort units are responsible for
             coordinating shipment from the JCMEC to the US Army Chemical
             Research Development and Engineering Center (CRDEC) at Aberdeens
             Proving Ground, Maryland for all chemical samples, and to the U
             Army Research Institute of Infectious Diseases (USARIID) at Fort
             Detrick, Maryland for biological samples.
             3. (U) Sampling Responsibility. Samples suspected of
             containing CB agents are divided into environment and biomedical
             samples on the basis of their location. Both medical and
             non-medical units have the responsibility for collecting samples
             suspected of containing CB agents.
les. Environmental CB agent
             samples are collected in the field. They include samples of
             aerosols of vapors, liquids other than water, soil , vegetation,
             water, used chemical equipment, and ordinance. The acquisition
             of these samples is the responsibility of:
