           1. (U) SITUATION. The Iraqi forces are equipped with an
international spectrum of weapons systems. They have
purchased, manufactured, or otherwise acquired ordnance items
in a great variety that will create numerous unexploded
ordnances (UXOS) either through design or default in their
usage. These UXOs can have a damaging effect on U.S. forces
and it is the responsibility of EOD units to render them safe.
           2. (U) MISSION. Army EOD units have been assigned in
dedicated support of each division. An Explosive ordnance
Disposal Control Team (EODCT) has been assigned to each Corps
and to the EAC. The EODCTS will assign all reported UXOs to
the appropriate EOD unit for action. All Air Force/Navy/Marine
forces have their own dedicated EOD support.

               b. (U) GENERAL.

                   (1) (U) BOD is responsible for the detection,

               munitions.

                   (2) (U) Conventional minefields are normally not an
EOD mission. EOD will assist the Engineers in rninefield
clearance when required dependent on mission availability.
Chemical mines are an EOD mission and will be responded to
               as such.
