          AFZA-GT
SUBJECT: MlAl and M2At Bradley NET

                  (7) NET crew evaluators (trainers) become the critical
item. If there are two NET teams, each one handling a company (a
team is 14 NCO for Abrams, 13 NCO's +or Bradleys), NET time is
cut in hal-F--or the evaluators can get a break during the 2 month
          cycle.

                  (8) The battalion which is going through NET will run
the ranges. Since they have experience with the weapons systems,
there is no requirement for NET fielding team supervision. Night
firing is a battalion commander decision and no additional
          ammunition will be provided.

                  (9) Contractor should have responsibility +or repairs of
deficiencies found during each company's NET. Contractor
provides the repair part (PLL will not be used during NET); the
unit does all maintenance work. The contractor's responsibility
ends once new vehicles are loaded on HET's +or transport to
          forward assembly areas.

              g. Post NET.

                  (1) Contractor relationship needs to be defined. During
a regular NET, the unit works out problems for 6-8 weeks. During
that time, the contractor pays for all parts. For MlAl's from
POMCUS, this may not apply. For Bradleys, contractor support and
parts should continue to come from Sultan and Faisal Ranges -For 2
months after NET. Bradley NET contractor normally provides a
-Field service rep with the battalion -For 6-9 months.

                  (2) We will need MCOFT. Again, the best place would
probably be at the ranges. We can move it later.

          5. The actual schedule -For a battalion will look like:

D-30 - Fielding conference -For battalion.
              D-20 - Hal+ DS mechanics start NET.
                   - half organizational mechanics start NET.
and test equipment issued.
                   - Battalion guards port.

D-13 - First half organizational mechanics graduate.
