Bring woodland pattern camo nets. After a good wind
storm, they look like desert camo.
                      - There is a map depot in Bahrain. The map situation
is bad, and not expected to improve real soon. Units are using
GPS to make there own maps of their TAhs. Maps must be WGS-72 or
           newer to be even close.
                      - Imagery intel is limited in theater due to limited
reproduction capab lity and poor down link from national assets.
                      - Identify linguists early. Get them out of the intel
business initially and get them with your contracting officers.
                      - Terrain: HEMTT and HMM%Vs have no problem w/ cross
           country mobility.

                      - Tank ditches are on average 3-10 meters wide and 3
meters deep, with mines in the bottom.

                      - Flame trenches are being developed. Pipelines run to
each trench, to flood the trenches with oil to set then on fire.

                      - most mines are surface laid; however, they cover with
           sand quickly.

                      - XVIII Abn Corps has been prohibited from planning
ing!
                      - Their are 20+ FOX NBC recon vehicles in theater with
more to come. They are working great.
                      - The theater requires 3 MOPPs suits per man: one is
carried, one in unit trains, and one in Corps reserve (COSCOM).
