                     Comedian Steve Martin visited FOP. OASIS rii-i Octobey- 16 as
               part of the USO's effort to boost.. the morale of the soldiers.
                     On October 22 units began to deploy back to CETI while
               others            to test fire their weapc-i-is and conduct
               training. By October 25 the TF had returnecl to CETI e,,cep@.
               for a small stay behind party.

               WHITE CYCLE - NOVEMBER

                     After returning to CETI t.@ic- units cc)nL!ucte,:J post
               operational maintenance, prepared for division guard duty,
     found time for rest. and
               recreation (R&R).
                     On October 27, 1990, COL Greg L. Cii.le turned over
               command of the "SRIKE" Brigade to COL Theodore J. Puri:lorfi.
               The whole Brigade Task Force assembled on the dusty divisici-i
               parade field to participate in the ceremony.
                     The three infantry battalions r.Dtated the guard duties
               as they had Jone prior to their training at FOS OASI".
                     Training was done in and immediately around CETI, but
               there were several trips to the adjacent Air Force compound
               where soldiers were able to closely see A-,IO Warthogs and
               Special Operations aircraft and learn about their
               capabilities.
                     The high point of this white cycle was the RSTR. The
               TF was able to send over IF-.OO soldiers to Half Moon Bay, a
               recreation center on the coast of the P'rsian Gulf in
                                                         e
               Dhahran. This was the first time that soldiers were able to
               get off the CEII compound for the whole day and relax.
