                                   MEMEORANDUM FOR USAREUR CAT

                                   SUBJECT: 3  ADI's Request For 10 Refrigerator
                                   Vans (CAT #126-04)

                                   Unclas MSG, Cdr 3 AD, DTG 08220OZ Dec 90, SUW:
                                   Request to Purchase Class VII.

                                   1. Bottom line: FMD cannot validate 3 AD's
                                   request to purchase 10 commercial 40-foot
                                   refrigerated vans to transport and store Class
                                   VIII supplies in SWA.

                                   2. From an FKD perspective, the "reefer vans"
                                   are equivalent to LIN S71613, a 7 1/2T
                                   refrigerated semitrailer. Currently, this item
                                   is not authorized or on hand in 3 AD* V Corps,
                                   or USAREUR.

                                   3. Per fonecon with CPT Jewell, 3 AD G-4
                                   (328-8109/8604), unit understands reefer vans
                                   are above and beyond MTOE authorizations. As a
                                   result, unit desires to purchase, but needs
                                   USAREUR validation first. Also, unit has not
                                   contacted ARCENT for validation.

                                   4. Recommend 7th MEDCOM ICW 3 AD request
                                   ARCENT validate purchase request.

                                   4. FMD POC is MAJ Brown, 370-6900/8083.
