MEM.0 FOR USAREUR CAT
SUBJECT: Refrigerated Vans for 3AD (CAT
#126-04)
1. Bottom Line: A need does exist to
provide a controlled climate for selected
Class VIII items in the AO. Requested
quantity of 10 is excessive.
2. ARCENT Surgeon's Office indicates
that divisions in the AO do not have
refrigerated vans. With cooler weather
don't need vans now, will probably need
in late March when temperatures start to
exceedlOO degrees.
3. Combat Support Hospitals in SWA have
3 - 401 reefer vans to store temperature
sensitive items.
4. Recommend 3AD be allocated 2 - 401
refrigerated vans, or equivalent, to
store Class VIII temperature sensitive
items. This is what VII Corps
recommended for 1AD.
5. OSURG POC is LTC Jackson, 370-2718.
