   TRAINING ISSUE NO. 5 AE Training - Integrate the ARC
   (SGHR ITEM NO. 113)

   DISCUSSION: ANG AE units comprise 30% of ARC AE capability and receive
   proportionate amount of play in major exercises. Budget constraints have
   reduced ANG participation. ANG AE units do not have enough opportunities to
   participate in "live" AE missions. Units conduct local and/or regional field
   training exercises to compensate, but this training focuses on AE crews rather
   than the AE system.

   RECOMMENDATIONS: Provide for standardized AE system training for ANG
   personnel. Develop a program with the 57 AES which would provide the ANG with
   the opportunity to fly "live" missions.

   ACTIONS REQUIRED: Develop a standardized AE system training program.
   Determine feasibility of a program to allow more ANG participation in "live" AE
   missions.

   ACTIONS COMPLETED: AMC has developed a standardized AE training program. AMC
   is looking into utilization of ANG AE crews for "live" AE missions.
