Food-borne illness --- Caused by a bacterium: Salmonella --- 37 of 47 stool cultures were positive - Traced to eggs served during the breakfast meal 2 Dec 90 --- Eggs were cracked, broken, and covered witb chicken feces (chickens are known to carry Salmonella and pass it on througb their feces) and chicken feathers. --- 85 total cases: 3-7 Dec 90 - Has now been resolved Environmental Health Officers sbould inspect and reject unacceptable food. --- Findings of this investigation to be distributed to all ATHs and SMEs. --- Findings will also be forwarded to CCSG. - Meeting to be held early next week to discuss Army medical facility beddowns. CENTAF/SG, ARCENI/5G, AECC, 4409 OSW/CC, and ESKAN/CSG will attend COMALF and STRATFOR may participate also Reason for meeting: running out of space at Riyadb Air Base, Eskan Village, and operational needs vs. med-evac needs at KKIA.
