File: aaacf_159.txtp. Title: Resupply of AE Kits. (l) Observation: No standardized procedure had been established for the resupply of Tactical and Strategic AE kits at the AECEs. (2) Discussion: Several questions pertaining to who would do the actual inventory of the kits--the AE crews or AECE personnel and was there a standard resupply procedure established that was given to all locations and AE crews so there would be consistency no matter which CONUS AECE location was the arrival or RON stop? The AECE at Charleston contacted HQ MAC/SOON concerning these questions but no established procedures were distributed by the time they deactivated. Concerns were expressed by HQ MAC/SON that the strategic crews may not be able to inventory their own kits because of crew duty limitations even though the OPS Support Center at Ramstein sent a message that crew rest could be waived until AE crews returned to their EUCOM staging base. (3) Recommended Action: a. Resupply procedures should be established with coordination between all operating locations so that the procedures will be the same system wide. This procedure should include the medical crew turning in a list of needed supplies at AECE locations. Recommended Action Office: HQ MAC/SGO. b. Include a 915XO in the AECE UTC to ensure that proper supply accountability can be maintained for AE kit resupply procedures. Recommended Action Office: HQ MAC/SGX. q. Title: Fleet Service and Patient Meals for AE Missions at Myrtle Beach AFB (MYR). (1) Observation: Due to a change in the concept of operation, neither proper fleet service nor patient meals were readily available during the initial phase of AE operations at MYR. (2) Discussion: Due to the expected patient loads, the initial plan called for the first stop out of MYR to always be the Charleston hub. At that time the aircraft would have fleet service accomplished and patient meals would be obtained. However, because the expected patient loads did not materialize and the fact that the normal AE schedule was to continue after aircraft and crews had been deployed to MYR, it was determined that the first stop out would not always be Charleston or a detachment. It was suggested that total fleet service for the aircraft, patient meals and all special diets be accomplished at MYR. This required the support services at MYR to perform services which they had never done before since no inflight kitchen facility nor fleet service exists. Because of the hard work of the MYR people, these requirements could have been available within 48 to 72 hours. This did not become necessary since the decision was made to route all missions out of MYR into
