            i. In FY88 and FY90, $2.2m and $2.2M, respectively, were
        obligated to procure a total of
        for each obligation.

            j. Since $4.4M Army monies went to procure
        anthrax, this is subtracted from the Army anthrax requirements in
        this budgetary submit; therefore, the budgetary submit is not the
        total anthrax vaccine requirement.

            k. @ne of the botulinum toxoid procured/obligated in FY89
        was included in the calculations because toxoid strains are
        incomplete to fulfill contract. Estimate that
        available by 28 Dec 90.

            1. Vaccine calculation does not include the potential
        terrorist use of anthrax or botulinum toxin in countries away from
        the AOR.

            M. In FY89 obligated $3.24M to procure
        pentavalent botulinum toxoid. Included this as part of the
        doses of botulinum toxoid that we can obtain with the efforts of
                       U.S. Army Medical Research Institute of Infectious
        Disease for production of various strain of the bot toxoid.

            n. Cost per anthrax vaccine dose is estimated to be
        dose. Cost per botulinum pentavalent toxoid dose is estimated to
