        SUBJECT: Minutes of Desert Shield BW Working Group


        9. Challenge study. LTC McKee commented on the Anthrax
        challenge study. He stated that no more monkeys had died
        the LD 50 anthrax dose. He questioned what additional stu
        could be done. He also stated that monkeys were fogged wi
        type A botulism and that study was progressing.

        10. Medical management of BW Casualties Course. COL Toml
        asked about the possibility of physicians deploying to Sau
        Arabia attending the annual Medical Management of BW Casua
        course at USAMRIID or the development of an exportable BW
        mini-course. Currently, two hours of the Chemical Casualt
        Course are devoted to medical management of BW casualties.

        11. Recommendations:

            a. Place Anthrax "smart kit" at hospital level until
        kits are available in theater, then distribute further for
