               I s tLt Rusty Koontz, 3d Marines tvbtor Transport Officer, was
           supporting the movement of Iraqi EPW,s from the vicinity of Al
           aaber to the EPW holding compound north of the second obstacle
           .belt with 14 trucks from his platoon. While walking past a group
           of Iraqi EPW'S, he heard an Ira?ItEPW ask, "Hey, do you speak

            ,gllsh?"  IstLt Koontz was a I t le taken aback, but said that he
           d   speak English. The Iraqi EFIW then went an to sag that "My
           name is Fred. I am from L.A.. I'm not supposed to a he-re!" As
           lstlt Koontz continued to talk to the Irar;l, he -learned that the
           man had returned to Iraq to visit hit-famfly, had his visa pulled,
           was conscripted, and was made a company commnder.    IstLt Koontz
           asked If any of..the other Iraqi's In the company spoke English.
           The Iraqi answered that he had taught then only one phrase which
           they all had mastered. That was "Saddam Sucks!"
