into operation and was providing two hot meals a day. Class IV
materials were continually "pushed" forward from MEF Rear. Air raid
bunkers were constructed using cement culverts, wood, sand bags, and
dirt. The logistical and administrative runs from MEF Rear at Al
Jubail continued to push supplies every day with a distance of over
100 miles to be covered with each leg. once the camp was
established, continued construction and maintenance was required for
up keep. The task of identifying the next displacement site was
started and plans were formulated for the required support.
Motor Transport
The Motor Transport Section operated efficiently during the
month, meeting all mission assignments. of 97 pieces of rolling
stock, the Company averaged 12 deadlined items per week with an
average deadline time per item of 17 days. There were a total of 4
tactical vehicles painted for desert camouflage.
Ten (10) BNMWIs, four (4) MRC 110's and one (1) 5 ton were
temploaned to MCCDC, MTT, for use until ist and 2nd Marine Divisions
could be tasked to provide support for them.
Due to the lift requirement to move the MEF Main, the Motor
Transport section deployed all but (3) HMKWV's and (1) CUCV to the
forward position to provide the necessary requirements to help move
the Command Element as they displaced across the desert.

During this period the Supply Section continued to improve it's
warehousing procedures. Re-created Consolidated Memorandum Receipts
(CMR) for all accounts within the I MEF Command Element were
completed. The 3rd Civil Affairs Group equipment was added to the I
MEF Account.
