to deploy 207 Marines or 79% of T/O.
On Dec 10, LtCol John R. Garvin assume<] command of MACS-2.
Also in December, eighteen Marines from MACS-7 were joi.ned (TAD in

Administrative support was, provided to Marines at several

During January, the administrative s(,,rvicoc were curtailed

arrival at the new site, field administrative service@ were
available within four days, to include Unit Diary, with MISSO
located at Ras Al Mishab. Seventy Marines from MAC.9-6 were

The additional augmentation increased the Squadi-on's total
strength to 52 Marines over the 863IR T/O levels. MA('C,-3a
established a new T/O for MACS-2, which was 863IR , 50%.
Additional requirements for sustaining twenty four hour (3periti,,tip,
included; guard and mess duty, providing personnel to man the
seven EW/C sites and operation of a self sufficient, isolated
site. These considerations leave questions as to the adequacy of
T/O 863IR's ability to support a combat mission. Standard
Administrative functions were, ptovided with the exception of those
minor problems noted in the monthly Command Chronology and weekly
SITREPS, PART III.
