Just before midnight as TF Grizzly prepared to begin
clearing across the border, 3/12 and 5/11 fired several long.
range missions an the first obstacle belt to destroy some
Iraqi bunkers and psychologically harass the Iraqi@'@
defenders. Because of the large expenditure of Rocket
Assisted Projectiles (RAP) required to support all:the TF
Grizzly requests for fire and the extensive anticipated
requirement for RAP during the ground offensive, lith
Marines instructed battalions to conserve RAP and requested
that Division impose RAP limitations on maneuver units. The@
Assistant Division Commander (ADC) concurred, and.just after,
midnight limited the expenditure of RAP for the remainder of@
the night to counterfire and emergency fire m
issic3ns.
