             SUBJECT*R CARC Painting of Equipment

             RESPONSE - All key CARC painting equipment (filters, respirators,
                        compressors that produce Grade D air, detection alarms,
                        explosion proof lights) are being used. Additional
                        explosion proof lights, respirators, and hoods have
                        been requisitioned.
             ISSUE -    Please provide a list of units which are painting;
                        broken out by ACt AR, and NGB.
             RESPONSE - No NGB or AR soldiers are doing CARC painting. All
                        CARC painting is being done by AC personnel of the lst
                        Armored Division and the 2nd Armored Division.
             2   A Safety Officer from VII Corps is on site during all current
             CARC painting operations.
             3. If the above information is not sufficient, please advise.
             Safety of our soldiers is of utmost importance.
