Throughout the night other casualties were evacuated to the
squadron aid station. SG and SG
drove from the Combat Trains to-the screen linti"
e 0 retrieve more
wounded soldiers. Feverishly working, the Aid Station treated
twelve wounded soldiers. Not one of them lost their life after
reaching the aid station. The squadron killed an undetermined
number of enemy dismounted soldiers and destroyed six T:--72 tanks
and eighteenBMP-1s. The squadron fought the bloody Battle of
the 73 Easting with a tenacious enemy. Superior training,
leadership, and bravery among the officers and troopers saved
lives and led to victory. While A Troop conducted reorganization
and rearming tasks, B Troop remained on the screen line
coordinating with 2d ACR, closing the gap between 3d AD and 2d
At:R, and protecting the Division's southern flank from a reported
enemy tank company moving north. The information and spot
reports greatly assisted 2d ACR and 3d AD in destroying the
enemy. The squadron passed Ist Bde forward to continue the
attack. At about 0130 on 27 Feb, the squadron began to rearm,
reorganize, and consolidate for the night.
