there were 2d Cavalry elements along the 72 and 73 grid lines-
They held on the 73 all night. I talked to the squadron COmmande'r@'-".-@,-.
later. I have a tape of the Brigade Command net which talks about
telling @o go work this out. In my mind there was Some
running loose of 2d Regiment folks. Any other unit that was north
of the 11 east west grid was in my way. They were out in front of
me by two to three kilometers.

What were the boundaries between the 2d ACR, yourself
           and Ist Brigade?

The boundary between the 2d ACR and the 3d Armored
Pv"s on=w@s the 10 east west grid line. A FRAGO was given over
the radio and a link up point about 7010 and yes 4010. We linked
up and coordinated that with fhp aCR and the scouts from 4/34
Armor. I spoke with on the Division Command Net and
told him I would need to have about 3 Kilometers to do that
mission through there. A few minutes later he told me he had to
pinch us down to about one kilometer. We started out at three
Kilometers and continually got narrower and narrower. We were
spread out over one to two kilometers when contac* was made. Yes,
sir we were coming down to the 11 to 10 boundary. We were as
close to the 10 line as we could navigate. We were spread out
about one to two Kilometers. 4/34 was the right flank battalion
of the lst Brigade and they were moving in a wedge. That put them
on our flank and just a little behind us. We were tied in with
them visually. Yes sir, contact was made at 7410 to 7411. Yes
sir, 4/34 passed through us. They were to our north when we made
the contact. They went into a combat formation as soon as contact
was made. Their southern flank company basically came through us
up on line about 500 meters behind my lead elements. We then
passed back through them. To the best of my knowledge, the 2d ACR
did not get north of the 10 grid line. I was personally riding
just south of the 11 grid line. Visibility was such that I could
just occasionally see vehicles well off to my south. The southern
flank platoon that I had was tied in by radio and visually with the
northern element of 2d ACR. 8 Troop was strung out about eight or
ten kilometers. Our mission was to screen that flank so we had
about fifteen kilometers along the 10 east-west grid line.
