APPENDIX 5 (Preventive Medicine) to ANNEX T (Medical) to Part I
of V/VII (US) Corps Field Standing operating Procedures (U)
(1) Permits rapid coverage of large areas and treatment
of areas inaccessible to ground operated equipment.
(2) Requests will be validated by a medical entomolog
approved by Chief, Preventive Medicine, Ho 7th MEDCOM.
(3) The unit requesting the aerial pesticide spray mi@-
must arrange for the aircraft crew and necessary mission clear@
The preventive medicine detachment will provide the aerial ins,-
spray rig, insecticide and operator. Helicopter ambulances wil
be used for insecticide spray missions.
b. Delousing operations.
(1) Delousing of large numbers of prisoners, civilians
troops will be carried out by specified preventive medicine
detachments upon request.
(2) Small numbers of persons needing delousing will not
treated by preventive medicine detachments; however, advice and
technical assistance may be provided.
c. Submit requests for above services to Corps Surgeon.
7. REPORTS.
a. Command Health Reports (RCS MED-3 (R6)) will be prepared
the Corps Surgeon IAW AR 40-5 and USAREUR Supplement.
b. Preventive medicine detachments will prepare a monthly
activities report, utilizing the format of the Command Health
(RCS MED-3 (R6)). The report will cover all pertinent activit
the detachment during the month and be forwarded to Corps Surc
through appropriate command channels.
c. Special Telegraphic Report of Selected Diseases (RCS
(R3)) will be submitted IAW AR 40-418 (See APPENDIX 7 to ANNEX
Part II of V/Vll Corps FSOP).
