            SUBJECT: Command Report, 101st Airborne Division (Air Assault)
            for operations Desert Shield and Desert Storm, 2 August 1990
            through 1 May 1991.


            1. Reporting Officer: J. H. Binford Peay IXI, Major General,
            USA, 101st Airborne Division (Air Assault), Commanding.

            2. Preparing officer: Clifford M. Lippard, lLT, AD, RHB12-44th
            ADA/101st Airborne Division (Air Assault), Division Histol-rical

            3. The enclosed document is the 101st Airborne Division (Air
            Assault) Command Report for combat and contingency operations, as
            required by AR 870-5.

            4. Annex A to the enclosure provides graphics of the division's
            operations during this reporting period. These graphics were
            prepared by the division's C3 Plans section for the 101st Airborne
            Division (Air Assault) How We Fought Brief.

            5. Annex B provides a brief explanation of air assault doctrine..
