      MEMORANDUM FOR SEE DISTRIBUTION                      3 SEPTEMBER 1990



      SUBJECT: USO-Style Variety Show


      1. General. The American Consulate for Public Affairs has offered
      XVIII Airborne CORPS the opportunity to view a variety show. Only
      volunteers should attend because some subject matter may be
      objectionable to individuals.

      2. Planning Factors

          a. The show will be performed at the American Consulate on I'@F
      13 and 14 September.

          b. There will be two shows nightly at 1830 hrs and 2030   hrs.

          C. Duration of performance is 90 minutes.

      3. Concept. Commanders transport their soldiers to the show.
      Weapons are secured on the buses . Bus loads are moved through a
      pedestrian ga@e and marched to and from the site of the performance
      (Consulate Auditorium) by the unit's chain of command.

      4. Unit Responsibilities,

          a. Clear the auditorium of explosives sixty minutes prior to the
      first show each evening. Coordinate with the CORPS PMO four days
      prior to the show for dog support.

          b. Determine number of requested allocations      each show, and
      pass to CORPS 61 NLT 2000 hrs 5 September.

          C. Coordinate sufficient transportation assests to meet    e
      number of allocations requested.

              Coordinate +or a Military Police (MP) escort to stay with
      ,transportation at all times.

          e. Designate a commanders Mc each bus-load to control soldier
      movement to and from the auditorium.

          f. Provide a five soldier detail to arrive sixty minutes prior
      to the show to serve as ushers.

          g. Designate one overall POC to coordinate final details with
      the 61.
