                 1-i. Problems Requiring Corps Assistance:

                        (1) The maintenance (:)+ MSR-. in LOGBASE ECHO is still.
              being conducted by the 109th           gineer GrOL(5 b-y -deWYLtlt.    Tlii s
              mission was to be assume@by EA6- @4inee-r---units effective B-Day.
              The group has continued maintenance due to the critical nature Of
              the logbase. Request help in freeing up the 109th assests so
              that they can concentrate on Corps l@iSRs.

                        (2) Current stockpiles of gravel in the Corps re@.tr- area
              are being domi.i-iated by EAC engineer units         (4--@-d Engineer
              Battalion). These stockpiles are +or all             @ISRs in the Corps and
              theater areas.     We need to gain increased         access to these
              stockpiles now. Gravel is critical +or the repair of riSR,7 in
   preparation for the movement of VII Corps units to RAAF,.
