        Daily SITREP 7th Engineer Brigade

        221BOOC MAR 91

        TO- VII Corps G-3 (OPS)

        1. Daily Commander SITREP:

           a. Situation- Engineers are now focusing an MSR maintenance
and destruction of Iraqi equipment and supplies ' We are planning
+or movement back to RAAS. 7th Engineer Brigade has operated
equipment in theater on an extensive basis since the first week
in December 1990. There has been no let-up, operations continue.
Have directed specific maintenance actions in preparation for
redeployment. Expect OR rate to initially +-all significantly.
It will improve over time. Brigade is currently maintaining over
1000 km of MSRs in Corps sector. Assumption of XVIII Airborne
Corps sector will stress assets but feel We can accomplish
mission if we receive the 527th Engr En to assist us. Combat
engineer battalions continue demolition mission, combat heavy
maintain M8Rs. Divisions should utilize organic engineer assets
-For work in their sector. We are concerned about lack of Corps
level logistical support forward of Log Base Nellingen.
Possibility of movement into the XVIII Airborne Corps sector
necessitates the need for Corps level logistical support (Class
I, III and IX) forward in the Corps sector.

           e. Combat Support Equipment Readiness 88 %
Lack of Class IX repair parts is adversely,a+fecting the OR rate.
The M113 fleet is at 76%. The fleet OR will decrease as the
mechanized engineers are heavily involved in Task Force Demo.
Running dear, track, road wheels and shock absorbers are a
special problem. Coordination with COSCOM (ASCMAT 20 Mar ?I)
shows no availability throughout the supply system.

           f. Personnel

procure cutting edges +or road graders and dozers involves a
lengthy process and produces limited results.
                                                        Current supply of
