         1. Daily Commander SITREP,

             a. Situation. Engineers are now -FOCUSINQ On MSR maintenance
         and destruction of -@raqi equipment -,rd supplies. We are planning
         +or movement back to RAAS. 7th Engineer Brigade has operated
         equipment in theater on an extensive basis since the first wee!.,.
         in December 199f). There has been no let-L.,p, operations contint-te.
         Have directed specific maintenance actions in preparation for
         redeployment. Expect OR rate to initially +all significantly.
         It will improve Over tims. Brigade is currently maintaining over
         'IOOCJ lfn of M@,Rs in Corps sector. Assumption a+ XVIII Airborne
         Corps sector will 5+--ress assets but +eel vie can accomplish
         mission.  Combat engineer battalions COrtil-iLEL- demolition mission,
         combat heavy maintain JISRS.  Divisions si-ioltid Litilize organic
         engineer assets +or work in their sector. We are concerned about
             of Corps level logistical support forward of Log Base
         NellingL-n. Possibility a+ movement in-to the XVIII Air-borne Cor-iDs
         sector necessitates the need +or Corps level. logistical sl-tpport
         (Cla5s I, III and IX) forward in the Corps sector.

             e. Combat Support Equipment Readiness         68 %
         Lack of Class I'A repair parts is adversely  affecting 'the OR rate@,
         The M113 fleet is at 7e%. The fleet OR t-.,ili decrease as the
         mechanized enq4-neers are heavily involved in Task Force Demo.
         Running gear, track, road @qheL-Is and shock absorbers are A
         special problem. Coordination with COSCOM (ASCIIA-1 2P@ riar 91)
         shows no availability throughout -he supply system.
