         TO- VII Corps G-3 (OPS)

         1. Daily Commander SITREP:

            a. SitLIatiOl-)'. Engineers are now focusing on MSR maintenance
and destruction of Iraqi equipment and supplies. We are planning
+or movement back to RAAS. 7tti Engineer Brigade has operated
equipment in theater on an extensive basis since the first week
in December 1990. There has been no let-Ltr), operations continue.

Have directed specific maintenance actions in preparation for
redeployment. Expect OR rate to initially +all significantly.
It will improve over time. Brigade is currently maintaining over
15OEJ km of MSRs in Corps sector. Assumption of XVIII Airborne
Corps sector has stressed assets but +eel we are accomplishing
mission. Combat engineer battalions continue demolition mission,
combat heavy maintain MSRS. Divisions should utilize organic
engineer assets +or work in their sector. We are concerned about
lack a+ Corps level logistical support forward of Lc)g Base
Nellingen. Movement into the XVIII Airborne Corps sector
necessitates the need +or Corps level logistical support (Class
1, III and IX) forward in the Corps sector-.

            h. Problems Requiring Corlos Assistance:

                 (1) VII Corps policy for return of captured enemy
equipment is confusing. What can we bring back as far as weapons,
amounts and vehicles to USAREUR? XVIII Airborne Corps reports
con+iscations of weapons at poi-t (DAtvlivl()M) due to ()MC requirements
and ARCENT policy. Do we need LLn-it-speci+ic ARCENT approval in
order to avoid confiscation when Our eqL.lipment/milvans go through
         port?

                 (2) Aviation requests +or the 7th Engineer Brigade
