APPENDIX 12 (MEDICAL OPERATIONS) TO ANNEX N (SERVICE SUPPORT)
TO IID(M) OPORD SCORPION DANGER
(4) (U) Deliberate patient decontamination will be
provided prior to entering the FSE. Litter patients will be
decontaminated by 4 teams of 3 non-medical soldiers to be
utilized for litter patient decontamination. One team of 4
non-medical personnel will work the sanator and assist in the
decon of ambulatory casualties. Minimal lifesaving medical aid
will be provided prior to decontamination. (See insert 2, TAB I).
(5) (U) AmbulAnces passing through vehicle deliberate
decontamination points at PL CHERRY will proceed to immediate
decontamination in order to be allowed to transport patients for
medical care at Combat Support Hospitals as quickly as possible.
Air ambulances will pass through PL CHERRY without required
decontamination.
(&) (U) Requirements:
(a) (U) Four non-medical soldiers to man patient
decontamination line at BAS.
(b) (U) Sixteen non-medical soldiers to man patient
decontamination line at FSEs and MSB.
(c) (U) Chemical casualty bags if available;
-otherwise use casualty blankets to wrap patients after
decontamination is complete.
(7) (U) Every ground or air evacuation vehicle/ambulance
must carry these casualty decontamination supplies: one five
gallon water can filled with 4.5 gallons of water; a one gallon
container of household bleach (strength is 5% chlorine), four
blankets or a roll of plastic sheeting (NSN 8135-00-618-1783), a
bucket and two sponges or towels. If no liquid bleach is
e-mix one six ounce container of calcium hypor-hlorite
(NSN 6610-00-255-0471) with a full five gallons of water, protect
it from heat and light and change weekly.
8. (U) MEDICAL SITUATION REPORTS (MEDSITREP): Medical
companies and BASs will submit required MEDSITREPs IAW IID(M)
Field SOP.
f. EVACUATION POLICY: The division evacuation policy
is 72 hours (soldiers who are not expected to return-to duty in
less than 72 hours will be evacuation to Corps hospitals).
g. PYRIDOSTISMINE BROMIDE CPB) TABLETS: At 48 hours
prior to H-hour, soldiers will begin taking PB tablets. Take one
(1) tablet every 8 hours until ordered to stop. Missed doses are
not to be made up by "doubling up" following doses.
