instruction in conjunction with AF EHO'S, and dining facility
          inspections for vendor source approval.

CPT Adams area of responsibility was huge, covering nearly
2/3rds of the CENTCOM theater and almost 1/2 of the sanitary
inspections. Within this geographical area of responsibility was
the Astra Farms, a large agricultural operation, located near the
Jordanian border at Tabuk. The Al Watania Poultry operation,
located northeast of Riyhad at Qasim, was the largest chicken and
egg operation in the kingdom, providing 35 to 40 per cent of all
eggs and poultry in the theater. In Oman he provided TDY sanitary
inspections in masirah, Thumrait, Seeb and worked with the Royal
Armed Forces of Oman which provided food to the USAF to insure all
sources of subsistence were from approved sources. CPT Adams was
also trained by CPT Whippo as a theater dairy expert and performed
sanitary inspections of dairies in Riyadh, Jeddah and Oman.

Remaining members of MST B assisted MST C, 73rd and HQ in
performing their missions in the Dammam area. SGT Cox traveled
with CPT Boles to UAE where he assisted in performing sanitary
inspections and training AF personnel in performing operational
ration inspections. SPC Lorenz volunteered to move to the 24th ID
Discom area, which included Pulaski, Vidalia and areas north. He
was sent to the 24th ID initially because of the large number of
questions and concerns which had been raised by the division
surgeon concerning the rations. He remained on site answering
concerns of the division and inspecting operational and A ration
receipts until replaced by the 73rd Med Det around 13 Nov. 90. The
simple movement of one inspector to the division worked wonders in
idence in the food they were eating and in
quelling many of the concerns the division surgeon had concerning
          the rations.

In early Jan 91 MST B, without SPC Cheever, returned to Dammam
where they assumed the food inspection missions covered previously
by the 248th to include the New and Old Host Nation Warehouses, the
dining facilities on Dhahran AB and the care of 12 MWD's located at
          the Dhahran AB.

          VII. MST CHARLIE:

This MST provided support primarily to the Dammam Port, and
Dammam areas. It was made up of one veterinary off icer and 5
91RIs. Initially they had the largest single inspection site in
theater with the Port of Dammam. All rations entering theater by
ship except a relatively few that went through the port of Al
Jubail, were off loaded from Mil Vans and stored in Warehouse 32 at
the port. As these operational rations, including MRE'S, B rations
and T rations, were off loaded they were inspected by Veterinary
personnel. Rotation of rations within the warehouse were extremely
rapid with most rations only remaining on site for a few days. The
