            5. COMMANDERS COMMENTS

Although this report covers a limited period of time
consisting of two short months, the subject matter addressed is a
condensed version of immense historical signif icance. of and by
itself, each area of concern portrays a short synopsis of events
expressed in the form of memorandums, line graphs, rosters and
other correspondence as experienced by the reporting officer.
Taken together, this report portrays occurrences encompassing war
and peace and details my Coinmand's response in pursuing the
successful conclusion of the former and the establishment of the
latter. Some command staff duties and responsibilities functioned
better than others. In the personnel and operations arena, years
of intense individual and collective training paid very high
dividends. The responsible staff personnel organized themselves
and reacted professionally to every new development and when tasked
with a new and difficult mission they responded magnificently and
rose to the occasion. However, in the logistical domain, my staff
didn't have time to fully consolidate this command's supply
management program because of the myriad of problems addressed by
my S4 and CSM in this report. The issues raised are relevant and
need to be expressed so that the "fix" can be accomplished before
the next war. Any critical comments are not to be viewed in a
negative light but rather in the context in which they were made -
to improve our readiness posture for a quicker, more professional
response to any future conflicts. It is in the spirit of
strengthening the One Army concept that I submit the enclosed
            Command Report for consideration.
