On 11 March 1991 JMRO and MEDCOM conducted a meeting with the
244th Medical Group, 92nd Medical Battalion and 144th Evacuation
Hospital in attendance. Discussed was the requirement to regulate
patients directly to European Command Joint Medical Regulating
Office (EUCOM JMRO) once the CENTCOM JMO departs the theater (date
unknown).
The attached charts illustrate the patient f low in this
Group's MTFS. (See exhibit 27)
In summary, approximately 700 patients (U.S.) were regulated
by the Group with approximately 300 to MODA (50th General
Hospital) , 200 to KKIA (144th Evac Hospital) and 200 to SANG (382nd
Field Hospital). The majority of this total were not returned to
duty but evacuated out of theater. Total peak bed capacity was
2,100 beds, the overwhelming majority of which were not needed or
utilized.
