             health effects of long term exposure to these fires is

             representatives from Environmental Protective Agency (EPA),
             Centers for Disease Control, National Oceanic and Atmospheric
             Administration, and Department of Energy have visited this area
             and conducted a preliminary evaluation which included the
             collection of air samples. Their preliminary findings from
             direct reading instruments showed that no acute effects are
             expected in healthy individuals. The results of EPA laboratory
             analysis of collected air samples will. be released shortly.
