                  salad, and generally, the incubation time for protozoal
                  gastroenteritis is much longer than 12 hours.

                  The clinical picture noted here was that of an acute toxic
                  diarrhea. COL. Phillips suspects another etiological agent,
                  or bacterial toxin is involved, and has submitted cultures from
                  several patients. Results are pending. A Possible viral (non-fo
                  etiology was discussed, but was thought to be unlikely, due
                  to the fact that one of the six units was 2 km from the airstrip
                  and direct contact with the other units was uncommon. This unit
                  did receive catered food from the Quasemah caterer.
                  It is unknown if other hospitals in the area have treated
                  additional cases.
