                       1013. -rF 2-8 Cav completes the relief of -FF 3-32
             on the screenlitie. As part of the relief TF- 2-8 conducts a
             r,econ
                       1330: The TF 2-8 Cav commander, spots seven enemy
             vehicles in a liager site at NT977213. The unit continues
             to observe the enemy while coordination is made with flank
             units and higher. Data is pre  'oared for artillery fires.
                       1448: 2-29 FA(GSR 1-82) engages targets observed
             by 2-8 Cav. Three battalion volleys of DPICM are fired xt
             the vehicles.
             Secondary explosions are noted on at least one vehicle.
                       TF- 2-5 conducts a breach live fire exercise that
             includes integration of small arms, explosives, vehicles,
                 IYIICLICS. A/B Engineers constructed an          -Lrench
             system for the exercise mock-up tnd participated in the
             live fire exercise to include the firing of one tflICLIC.

                       L)730@. TF 2-8 conducts a mounted recot,. of the
             border berm.
                       l@'-34- -rF 2-8 completes the berm recon.
                       1235: ;R- c) FA captures four EPWs while positioned
             forward to support the TF 2-8 recon.
                       173 @, 2-8 Cav captures two EPWs on the
                             sorlenline.
                       -[F 2-5 Cav receives a warning order to conduct
             reconnaissance north of the berm prior to a task force
             raid.


                   15 Feb
                       14V[O: Directed by division to control the border
             berm with direct fires. -FF 2--B moves north to execute the
             mission.
                       TF 2-5 Gav issues the FRAGO for execution of
             cross border rec-,ons and raids.

             5. Phase Three. Border Screen and Deception Operations

                Et. Phase Three began on 15 February. TF 2-8 moved north
             to the @'aLtdi-Iraqi border and continued -Lo screen the
             briq@ide front. At the beginning of this phase the FEBA was
             located a.Long the NT/P-r 1210 east-wlst grid line,, Phase
             Three concluded on 2f, February, when the brigade ]Den@An
             movement to pass through the lst ID breach lanes.
