        II. PROCEDURES FOR SKIN DECON.

             A. When you find or suspect a liquid chemical agent on your skin, or
a buddy sees it and tells you, act immediately.
             B. Put on your mas@, and hood. DO NOT zip the hood. DO NOT pull the
draw strings. DO NOT fasten the shoulder straps. Give the alarm
                 if the situation requires.

             C. Seek overhead cover or use your poncho for protection against
                 further contamination.

             D. Remove one Skin Decon Kit from carrying pouch.

NOTE: Although any notch may be used to open packet, opening at TEAR
LINE will place applicator pad in a position that is easier to
                 use.

             E. Tear open quickly at notch.

             F. Remove applicator from packet and discard empty packet.

             G. Unfold applicator pad and slip finger(s) into handle.

NOTE: For heavily contaminated areas Ewhere contamination about the size
of a penny is visible] place pad with the center line directly
over contaminated area. Using a pinching motion, remove liquid
gross contamination from skin surface. Properly dispose of
contaminated pad and use a second pad for the removal of any
                 residual liquid contamination.

             H. Thoroughly scrub, using a zig-zag motion, all exposed skin on back
of hand, palm, and fingers, using an extra stroke between fingers,
until completely covered with black powder from the applicator
                 pad.

             1. I+ the other hand is also contaminated, repeat steps D through H.

NOTE: DO NOT discard last applicator pad used at this time

NOTE-. If, when you were contaminated, you were masked with hood zipped
and drawstring pulled tight, STOP, discard applicator pad, put on
to step T.

If, however, you were masked, but the zipper and drawstring were
not secure, go to step 0.

If you were not masked, do every step in the following procedure.

Certain areas of the face should be scrubbed with an extra stroke
because they are hard to decontaminate. These areas will be noted
as we procede through the steps.
