                         On 11 December the fir,st unit.,, of the TF began tin

                   WHITE CYCLE - DECEMBER

                         Upon returning to CEII, the TF conducted post operations
                   maintenance, prepared for guard duty and conducted R&R. CEII
                   had matured in the last month. There were phones available
                   'For soldiers to call back to the states, the PX complex had
                   grown to include local venders selling souvenirs, and a hot
                   water shower point was established.
                         During the Task Force's absence the Division had hoiz;@.ed
                   up an alarm system which would sound if a chemical or air
                   attack was imminent or in progress, The alarm system was
                   tested several times in December. Soldier's rehearsed masking
                   and taking up assigned positions.
                         Some of the R&R activities included the following. The
                   American ARAM60 workers and their families visited the TF
                   with their "Meals on Wheels" program.             Soldiers were bussed
                   to the Dhahran PX and Half Moon Bay. Battalions held their
                   own barbecues and sporting events.
                         The newest twist to the R&R was the cruise ship that was.
