                                     COMMANDER'S NARRATIVE SUMMARY
                                                (Continued)

           307th EN: Submitted: 27 Nov 90

Cdr's Comments: The amount of training ammunition on hand (particularly 5.56 &
7.62 and demo) is far too small; we have requested a fix from 83. Working on
ways to improve 2d Bde force protection. Response to carpentry tasks has
slowed due to lack of skilled manpower and wood. We have asked Cdr, DREAR to
identify the engineering needs in the DRA so we can better task organize for
           OPLAN 18-90.

Cdr's Comments: We continue to be critically short of Arabic linguists. This
problem has been evident for several weeks but is more of a problem now owing
to return of 311th and 519th MI BN linguists. At this point in time, we have
15 linguists on hand. We need over 50 to be able to accomplish our mission
           with high standards.

Cdr's Comments: Battery A (-) remains at Area 19A and will continue a four day
Aerial Engagement (Dry Fire) exercise with the ABMOC Section providing Early
Warning. Battery B (-) will conduct Vulcan and Stinger Quarterly Battle Drill
Evaluations. Battery C continues a Battery FTX in direct support of 3d
Brigade's EXEVAL of TF 3-505. I visited the Office of Program Management (OPM)
SANG Range Facilities east of RIYADH on 26 Nov 90 and completed the
coordination necessary to conduct our first Vulcan live firing in the Kingdom.
