           SUB,TECT: Recap of Procedures to Establish Unit Staging Areas


           1. Reference Memorandum, AFZA-GT, 23 Aug go, Subj: Procedures
           for Selection and Preparation of Staging Areas within Saudi
           Arabia.

           2. The Land Movement Team, headed up by G30 XVIII Airborne
           Corps, is composed of Corps G4. G5t G5 interpreter, and Engineer
           Representatives, and the MSC ADVON. Other Corps staff may
           augment the team to cover special requirements associated with
           their @ertise (e.g., aviation, medical, artillery, etc). The
           MSC ADVON must arrive at least 2 weeks prior to the main body to
           be an effective team member.

           3. To recap and further explain the method to obtain real
           estate facilities, and life support for unit staging areas, the
           following explanation is provided:

           TIME

           2 weeks             STEP 1.   Corps Land Management Team
           before MSC                    coordinates w/03 Plans to identify
           main body                     a map "goose egg" for initial
           arrival                       site survey in behalf of NSC
                                         ADVON's not yet in country. ADVON

                               STEP 2.   LMT conducts initial site survey.
                               STEP 3.   LMT processes initial requirements
                                         for site approval through COL Kalif,
                                         Saudi Approval Authority, and life
                                         support requirements through ARCENT
